Dipti Kumar, MD FACOG is a board-certified obstetrician-gynecologist with a passion for women’s health. Raised in Chattanooga, Tennessee, she pursued her medical education at George Washington University, where she fell in love with women’s health and the nation’s capital. After completing her residency at Tufts Medical Center in Boston, she gained valuable experience working in Houston, Texas and Raleigh, North Carolina before returning to the DC area to establish her private practice at Capital Women’s Care.
Dr. Kumar holds a faculty appointment at George Washington University School of Medicine as a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology. She has Obstetrics and Gynecology privileges at Sibley Memorial Hospital. She has Gynecology privileges at George Washington University Hospital.
Her clinical interests include gestational diabetes management, pregnancy weight gain, healthy policy, family planning including IUD and arm-implant insertion and removal. Her surgical interests are in operative hysteroscopy of polyps and fibroids. She is also skilled in office-based procedures such as D&C, LEEP and hysteroscopy.
Committed to collaboration and patient-centered care, Dr. Kumar looks forward to building lasting relationships with her patients. When not practicing medicine, she enjoys spending time and exploring the world with her husband and two children.
